Tuesday night the Duke Blue Devils trumped the Virginia Tech Hokies beating VT 85-67. A three point game at half opened up big time in favor of Duke.
It was senior night in Cameron, so the perfect ending for seniors, Seth Curry, Mason Plumlee, and Ryan Kelly could not end in any other fashion than a win. Tech had a talented senior on their side of the ball as well, Erick Green the senior out of Virginia scored a game high 25 points.. Oh and if you didn't know he is the nations leading scorer, and will give the ACC their first leading scorer since 1957. Quite a long time eh?
Both Quinn Cook and Mason Plumlee scored 14 points individually, Ryan Kelly put up 18 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists as Seth Curry totaled 20 points himself.
Like I said before Duke is getting healthy at the right time. With rival UNC being a non threat this year, their only worries coming out the ACC is Miami. Kelly's body will have to get used to the day by day grind coming back from an injured foot, and when he does Duke has the highest scoring starting five in the nation. Duke improves to 17-0 this season with Kelly in the line up and finished with their 17th undefeated home record in school history. For much of the game the Hokies were able to hang around, who was down 53-47 with about 12 minutes left in the game, until Duke closed the game out scoring on 15 of their final 16 possessions. This led to Curtain calls for the three star seniors, who got a standing ovation in Cameron indoor arena. Lets see how March goes for the blue devils and if they can stay healthy, will the Blue Devil fans be clapping then?
