Giants Release Bradshaw
So in a tweet I saw from Adam Schefter, the New York Giants have released their RB Ahmad Bradshaw. I'm still kind of scratching my head from this move because all they have behind him is an unproven and inconsistent, David Wilson, and Andre Brown who was solid when healthy for the Giants but has never carried the load for an NFL team. Bradshaw has been a very good and consistent player for the Giants over the years being the RB for 2 Super Bowl winning teams. So I'm not sure what their plan is for the RB position because they have other needs more serious then that to take care of in the draft like LB and OL. I guess their thoughts was that he got hurt too much and looked at him as a liability? I'm not sure or they could be trying to clear more cap room to sign other players or make some moves to sign different players. Either way I liked Bradshaw and don't like this move. Giants fans leave your comments on the move. UPDATE: They released DT Chris Canty too...Not sure what they're doing but maybe they'll surprise us.

Crying. I know the young Giants have a reputation of stepping up when needed but its just so upsetting to cut a veteran because of the salary cap. Ahmad got lucky last time around when Brandon Jacobs took a pay-cut to keep this guy around, and I wish Eli would do the same this year.
ReplyDeleteKnowing the Giants front office, this move will most likely end up being beneficial. But if you look at his production and how much he has meant to the Giants its a tough move to make
